Clubs that meet on Friday 26

Friday is club night across Rhein-Main, and more clubs gather on it than on any other evening. Many split it in two, children and juniors first and adults later. SK Bad Homburg 1927 starts with youth chess at half past five in its Gonzenheim club house, SC Eschborn 1974 in the Alte Jahnschule and SC Flörsheim 1921 in the Stadthalle both train young players before eight, and SC Schachmatt Weiterstadt, Sfr. 1932 Kelkheim and SG Turm Idstein follow the same pattern.

Some Fridays follow a monthly rota. SK Langen plays training, rapid, blitz and a pizza blitz in turn in the Alte Bachschule, and Schachfreunde Eltville rotate blitz, an hour game, rapid and a club tournament in the former town hall of Erbach. SC Frankfurt-West in Zeilsheim plays club tournaments, Chess960 among them, from eight, Schachfreunde Mörfelden-Walldorf keep the Bürgerhaus open through the school holidays, and in Mainz both Schachfreunde Mainz 1928 and Vorwärts Orient play on Friday evenings.
